A Voice for the Ages: Colleen Mellor Returns to the Revolutionary Run

Every great race needs a moment that stops you in your tracks before the clock even starts. At the Revolutionary Run, that moment belongs to Colleen Mellor.

Colleen Mellor is a Bucks County resident, community advocate, and longtime professional vocalist whose music career has spanned decades throughout the Delaware Valley. Over the past 25 years, Colleen has had the honor of performing the National Anthem at countless events including road & bridge dedications, sporting events, memorial services, 9/11 remembrances, community celebrations, and patriotic holiday ceremonies throughout the region.

The RevRun is honored for Colleen to return for the 5th consecutive year to sing the National Anthem at the Revolutionary Run held at Washington Crossing Historic Park — a tradition that beautifully honors freedom, service, and community on Independence Day. Colleen said "Being invited back during the celebration of America's 250th birthday, at the very place where General George Washington crossed the Delaware, is both humbling and deeply meaningful."

Service Beyond the Stage

What makes Colleen's story especially compelling is what she walked away from — and what she walked toward. After performing in several professional bands, she stepped back from professional entertainment to dedicate herself fully to children's behavioral health and case management. Her work off the stage is as much a testament to community as her work on it.

That spirit of service is exactly what the Revolutionary Run is built on. Colleen's presence at the start line each year isn't just a performance — it's a tradition, a through-line connecting the event's celebration of freedom and community to the very ground beneath runners' feet.

Where History Meets Every Stride

Washington Crossing Historic Park is not just a backdrop — it is the story. When Colleen's voice fills the air on the morning of July 4th, runners will be standing on the very ground where, in 1776, General George Washington and his troops made one of the most daring crossings in military history. America's 250th birthday makes this year's race unlike any other in the event's history.

Colleen herself calls it "a profound honor to be part of an event that commemorates such an extraordinary chapter in our nation's history." We couldn't agree more — and we're grateful she keeps coming back.
