Behind the Lens: Meet the Photographer Who Captures the Heart of the RevRun

Every great race has a story. The early morning energy, the nervous anticipation at the start line, the push through the final stretch, and the pure joy of crossing the finish. For the past three years, one photographer has been there to capture every one of those moments at the Revolutionary Run — and her work has become as much a part of the event as the race itself.

Meet Nicole, the official photographer of the 44th Annual RevRun, from Nicole Murphy Photography.

Based in Bucks County, Nicole brings a documentary-inspired eye to everything she shoots. Her philosophy is simple but powerful: preserve authentic moments that people can look back on for years to come. No staged poses. No forced smiles. Just real people, real emotions, and images that tell the truth of the moment.

While her specialty is wedding photography — where she has spent over four years capturing love stories with the same instinct for genuine connection — Nicole has made the RevRun one of her most anticipated events of the year. "It's one of my favorite annual events," she says. "I love capturing the excitement, joy, determination, and sense of community that makes it so special."

That sense of community is exactly what the RevRun is about. Held every July 4th at Washington Crossing Historic Park, the race draws runners of all ages and abilities for a 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk, a Certified 5K, and a Certified 10K — all set against the backdrop of one of the most historically significant sites in American history. Kevin Brooks, Chair of the RevRun, puts it best: "Nicole always captures beautiful and authentic photographs that showcase not only the runners and their determination, but the stunning beauty of Washington Crossing Historic Park itself. We are very lucky to work with such a dedicated photographer and partner for the RevRun."

Nicole understands that the race is about more than finish times. It is about neighbors showing up for each other, families cheering from the sidelines, and individuals pushing themselves to do something they are proud of. She sees it, and she captures it.

When she is not documenting race day or wedding days, Nicole can be found exploring new places with her camera, spending time with her husband Josh, and their dog Gloria.

We are proud to have Nicole behind the lens for the RevRun — and grateful that her images allow our runners, volunteers, and community to relive the magic of July 4th long after the finish line tape has been broken.

Race photos will be available following the event. Stay tuned to our social channels for updates.
