It Takes a Village: The Community Behind the Revolutionary Run


The Revolutionary Run doesn't just happen. Behind every bib number, every water station, and every finish line moment is an entire community that shows up — year after year — to make it possible.


The Upper Makefield Business Association organizes and markets the event through our passionate volunteer members, but the RevRun has always been bigger than any one organization. It is a reflection of everything that makes this corner of Bucks County so special.



We are grateful beyond words for the support of the Upper Makefield Township Manager and staff, Upper Makefield Public Works, the Upper Makefield Volunteer Fire Department, the Newtown Ambulance Squad, the Upper Makefield Police Department, the DCNR, and the Friends of Washington Crossing Historic Park. Their commitment to this event — and to this community — makes all the difference.


And then there are the local businesses who open their doors and lend their support, the residents who line the route and cheer on every runner, the families and friends who make the day feel like a celebration, and of course the runners themselves — an inspiring group ranging in age from 2 to 84 — who remind us every July 4th why we do this.

Residents, local government, the Commonwealth, park management, non-profits, emergency services, and local businesses — all working together, all pulling in the same direction. That is the Revolutionary Run.

  • Washington Crossing Historic Park
